"The hotel is built using the building of the hall, which has a strong Nanyang style and a certain historical basis. It is like the flavor of the Republic of China. The furnishings are also very tasteful."
"Satisfied with the cleanliness, love the antique feel and the family room design. Breakfast is nice although slow due to the ala cart and small kitchen.
Reception service is ok but their knowledge is limited to within the hotel only. They know nothing outside the hotel even though it's just around the hotel within walking distance."
"We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Campbell House. Excellent location and reception staffs were welcoming and very helpful. They provided us with maps & recommendations after check in. Always asked us about our day and highlights. Thank you for a memorable experience!
The room is very clean although small for 2 to share. I would recommend the double room for one traveller or short/weekend travellers with less luggages."

"The room was good, even without a window it didn't feel cramped. The space in the room was quite well arranged. The bed, bedsheets and towels were clean. The bathroom amenities were all in good condition. There was hot water, quality soap and shampoo available. The hotel staff were friendly. The location was good, convenient for walking around. On the day of the stay there was a food festival, very close by. This hotel has a 100 ringgit security deposit, which is returned upon check-out."
"The hotel is within walking distance to the coast, restaurants and amenities. The room was basic but acceptable. The noise from other rooms was noticeable and disturbing. The cleaning staff were lovely."
"Nothing much going on in the hotel area except the food court across. Tried walking to georgetown but its not pedestrian friendly, a bit dangerous. Overall, a mid stay experience."
"The hotel location is superb.. it is along the Penang Road that was very easily can find hawkers foods.
The hotel provide slipper for those who do not bring to walk around the city.
Overall it was a pleasant stay."
"Here’s a translation of your review into English:
It was a very delightful one-night stay. Upon arrival at the front desk, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service, along with a welcome ice cream. We were even offered a complimentary upgrade to a king bed room.
When we entered the room, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel had thoughtfully accommodated my request made online to be near the elevator, as I was traveling with two young children and wanted to avoid walking too far. The room was very clean and spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable.
To our surprise, the minibar included a birthday cake, as I had mentioned online that we were staying to celebrate my husband’s birthday. This thoughtful gesture truly touched us. Additionally, the hotel provided complimentary snacks and soft drinks, which were a lovely bonus.
We chose this hotel for its convenience, as it allowed our two children to rest easily after getting tired from exploring the mall. It turned out to be exactly as we hoped—super convenient. The hotel is also close to a famous food street, but unfortunately, we couldn’t visit due to the rain. Instead, we dined at one of the many restaurant options within the mall.
The breakfast the next morning was abundant and delicious, and since our two kids are under five, they enjoyed complimentary breakfast as well.
We have no regrets about choosing this hotel. Our entire family had a wonderful time, and we would definitely stay here again in the future.
Let me know if you’d like any adjustments!"
"A Chinese-owned bed and breakfast is very close to the surname bridge. There are also many Chinese-opened tea rooms for breakfast. The room is small, the toilet is cool, and no one can speak Chinese when the boss is absent. The grand birthday of the Tiangong, I do not know whether it is fireworks or someone hit the window. Anyway, when the shower was in the window, the window was so loud that the mother was scared. I thought someone was out of the window. I quickly called to come over and check, and I didn’t find out the reason. The staff was also very good. It’s said that we didn’t change rooms, and we didn’t bother to change the last day."

Very Good
GGuest UserHad a wonderful experience yet again at Ascott. We'll appointed rooms, lovely infinity pool and great accessibility make this a good choice. Above and beyond everything else, the service from Mr Yau was immaculate. Felt like a home away from home. Thank you Mr Yau!
AAnonymous UserE&O is our favourite hotel in Penang. Being a local Penangite, we frequently ate at Sarkies and even had our wedding in this hotel 10 years ago. We're back in this hotel for our anniversary, however we were a little disappointed with our stay. The bathtub in our corner suite is extremely dirty and stained. We asked the housekeepers to clean it as we wanted to use it. Worse of all, when we filled the tub with water, to our horror, the water was brown in colour!! Not sure if there is proper maintenance done to ensure the water supply is not tainted. The housekeepers also did not refill the complimentary mini bar items despite stating that our suite includes replenishment of the mini bar items on a daily basis. The surface area and tables were not wiped properly as well when they came to clean the room. We hope the management would seriously look into this matter, especially on the water source and overall cleanliness of the suite / bathroom.
SSunnyAllyI had a great stay at this hotel! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The location is convenient, close to shops and public transport. The room was clean and comfortable, which made the stay even better. I really appreciated the welcome drinks upon arrival, it was a nice touch. There’s also a water machine available, which made it easy to refill my bottle anytime. Would definitely stay here again!
HHavananaThe hotel is very new and the location is very convenience there are a local food market nearby. the room is good even a size is quite small but good enough to stay 1 or 2 in the room.
There are fresh brew coffee for free service in the lobby.
GGuest UserThe buffet breakfast on the first day was great! The pandan chicken was our favourite. They have egg stations where you can order how you like your eggs, toasts, fruits, cereals n milk, coffee machine, dim sum baos, nasi lemak, noodles. Quite decent for the price of the room Inc bf. Had a nice chat w the guy manning the counter as we were there at like 7am n there were not other guests yet. Sit near the window if you are early and get a nice scenic view while enjoying bf.
Location wise no comments as we go everywhere via grab.
Room was clean, only wished they had bigger rooms for like 2 queen beds for families with young children. We had a king bed but cannot fit all of us. Shower lotion n shampoo not great so I used the ones I brought along for my children. It smelled like Mama lemon dish washing detergent. Aircon was cold n nice.
GGuest UserStaying 2 nights at Club Family Room. The room consists of 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed, and it's perfect to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. Amenities are from L'occitane. Club Floor guests can enjoy free flow drinks at Club Lounge, and my kids love it so much. However, there were some stains on the bathtub. The swimming pool is not big. The adult pool is 1.2m and 2m water depth. The kids' pool is only 0.3m deep. But, the breakfast choices were sufficient and tasted good. There are plenty of parking lots at the basement car park. But, there was no elevator from the car park to the lobby. Guests have to use a staircase from the car park to the lobby. Parking is complimentary for hotel guests. LOCATION is superb as it's in the centre of GEORGETOWN, and Jen Hotel is just next to The Top and Komtar. It's within walking distance to New Lane Food Stalls, Penang Road famous cendol, etc.
GGuest UserThe good:
No deposit upon checking in, check in and out was a breeze, parking provided, the room carpet is clean and centralised aircond cools the room very quickly, the bed and bedding is comfy, cleanliness is tiptop, there's a pool and gym that's nice, and the TV channels were decent
The bad:
Did not validate my car plate and upon driving out, i was charged rm60+ for overnight parking. this was sorted out very quickly but was a hassle, the entrance to room from the parking lot is weird and not disabled friendly.
Overall, i had a good rest at st giles wembley at a decent price. Joined the membership and got a nice cup of coffee at the lobby. I got a room near the lift, so there were noises outside thus the soundproofing is not very good. But felt safe and the clean room feels good. A solid 4 out of 5, could have been better if it came with breakfast minus the hiccup at parking fees.
Lletstraveltogetheroverall the location of the hotel is excellent, central of the city and very accessible to anywhere.
the family room was decent, the bed could be improved by replacing it with a better/newer model as the current one has a dent on it.
gym was decent, your average hotel gym.
swimming pool, in my opinion, for a 4 star hotel, is extremely small. it's like a kiddie pool.
RR...AThe hotel is very old located in the center of George Twon closer to seaside. I have booked family room. Space and lay out is ok but 2 issues, 1 the inner parents room has a large empty space by the window (seaview the say but hardly seeing tho) we were puzzled why no pair of sofa chairs with a tea table, what is this space for? Super odd...
2 the connecting door for two rooms doesn't close well, not saying the lock doesn't work, no no, the door can't even able to be fully shut.
Services is almost zero. Don't count on it. All in all besides the location and fact has family room options, I don't have anything else to write home about this hotel. Oh and the sound proof is zero too, not saying between our 2 rooms. I basically had bad sleep whole 4 nights stay cos outside in the hall almost never stopped having doors open/shutting and people loudly talking/walking by noises...
Won't book again.
IIsabelleThe hotel location is right on the hot spot of Georgetown. But it goes with noise at night until 2am. So if you plan to be partying at night it's ideal and walking distance to Love Lane and all Georgetown touristic areas.
But if you wish to sleep and relax after midnight definitely not the right hotel for you.
The room was OK in terms of size but a lot of mosquitoes coming from the bathroom drain. I've killed at least 50 of them thanks to a mosquito raquet 🤣 The tip is to close the bathroom curtains so they don't get in the bedroom.
Humidity in the room had the paint peeling off.
For the price I don't think the room quality was enough. Specially for the humidity and mosquitoes combination.
The breakfast menu was not available but you can easily go down the street and eat at ease or order with the application grab. No bar available in the hotel.
The shared areas are clean. Loved that you have to take off your shoes at the entrance.
There are stairs to get into the hotel but they help you with your luggage. The first time you arrive you need to ring the bell for them to come open for you. Small door not easy to spot at first. I suggest to the hotel to stick the name directly on the door at eye level and big to avoid confusion. I've uploaded a picture of the door for you to not get lost.
After you check in they will give you the door code so easy for you to get by.
Staff has been helpful when asked but not interacting or giving you suggestion or asking you how things are going.
I've rated cleanness average because there was a lot of hair in the bathroom when I arrived. Had to literally take it off during 5 minutes. Thick long hair... Not sure how they didn't spot it.
Apart of that they were cleaning all right the rest of the stay.
Internet was not easy to get when in the room but in common areas or close to the door of the room works better. Don't save on a sim card and buy at the airport for having internet at all times on your phone. Will help you with maps and outside anyway.
The taxi from the airport was very convenient only 30 minutes and I ordered with grab came within 5 minutes.
Hope this information helps 🌹
